Community Partners

• The Mayor’s Coalition for Literacy- Houston READ Commission leads the Mayor’s Coalition for Literacy, comprised of nearly fifty literacy agencies with over one hundred and fifty sites in Houston. 

• The Houston Literacy Consortium- Houston READ Commission leads the Houston Literacy Consortium with the Houston Community College System. This consortium is comprised of twelve influential literacy agencies in Houston. 
  

• Houston Chronicle: The Houston READ Commission hosts a workplace literacy program at the Houston Chronicle for its employees.

• Comcast: Comcast generously contributed the funds to create the Comcast Computer Lab at Houston READ Commission’s Sharpstown Demonstration Learning Center, which features 20 state-of-the-art computers as well as high-speed internet. It is available to the public for educational use.
